This update is over-due but we’ve been making some hard decisions which has delayed us.
We are way too late in shipping these out to you. We have not finished the firmware. The delay is caused by finishing the firmware. The firmware has been nearly there but not, for months.
So we have made the decision to cut functionality to the bones and ship it. This will get the hardware in your hands and it will be usable. But it will have lots of missing functionality. We will add this missing functionality as quickly as we can.
For example, for over a week we have been trying to get the web app to control the EEG parameter settings via aws iot. We wanted a nice UI were you could set the sample rate, change the channel mask and so forth. We estimated it would take a day. A week later it is still not ready. So we are cutting it. This means you won’t be able to change the sample rate. But at this stage we think that a fixed sample rate is better than no device.
So over the next two days we are either setting or cutting functionality so that we can ship all orders this weekend. We will compile a full list of what we have cut and you hopefully you can help us prioritise it.
We should have done this two months ago but there is a saying I like. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now. So we are cutting and shipping.
